Sheen heads home after raising hell in Manhattan
Actor found drunk and naked after trashing his suite at the Plaza Hotel
The actor Charlie Sheen was reported to be out of hospital in New York and on his way home to Los Angeles last night, following an altercation that brought New York City police to his suite at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan.
There they found him drunk and naked having trashed his suite, apparently after flying into a rage when he thought he'd lost his wallet and mobile phone.
Some reports have also claimed that a prostitute was found locked in a wardrobe in the suite. She was "screaming for her life and naked", according to Life & Style magazine.
Sheen, 45, is the the highest paid actor on American TV, starring in the hit comedy Two and a Half Men. He has a history of problems with booze and recreational drugs. Earlier this year he spent time in rehab to avoid jail for threatening to kill his third (now ex) wife Brooke Mueller during a winter holiday in Aspen.
On this occasion, he was in New York to see his second wife, Bond girl Denise Richards, and take their two young daughters to see Mary Poppins. They were in the room next door at the Plaza when the police were called.
Confronted by the raging actor, the officers apparently gave him a choice - down to the station or straight to hospital for "for alcohol abuse and psychological evaluation". He chose the latter.
A spokesman for Sheen said later that he not done nothing illegal and that he had suffered an allergic reaction to medication. ·
