Transfer Talk: Everton's England defender wants force through City switch as United discuss Silva deal and Arsenal bid for Chamakh

Everton defender Joleon Lescott is set to force through his move to Manchester City by handing in a transfer request.

Lescott has told Everton boss David Moyes that he wants to talk to City, but after successive bids were rejected by the Merseysiders, the England international now recognises the only way to seal a deal is to go public. according to the News of the World. The deal to take him to Eastlands would be worth in excess of £20m.

The Toffees could try and replace Lescott with Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos to Everton says the Mirror. The Swiss defender is currently on loan to AC Milan, but they have not taken the option to buy him. Arsene Wenger  has also made a cut-price £5m bid for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh the player he wants as a replacement for Emmanuel Adebayor...

But the Mail on Sunday says Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi has rubbished reports he is set for a move to Arsenal. The player says he has no intention of leaving Rome...
