Arsenal is set to make a £15m bid for Fiorentina's combative Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo, the Daily Mail reports. Emirates boss Arsene Wenger has been tracking the 25-year-old for three years, since he played for Almeria in Spain's La Liga. Inter Milan are also interested in the player, but the fiery Melo, who picked up 17 yellow cards and three reds in his first season in Serie A, would prefer to ply his trade in the Premier League...

Manchester United may not be interested in him any longer, but Chelsea yesterday made an opening bid of £40m for Bayern Munich's winger Franck Ribery. The German club have told the Londoners to return with a higher offer for the French international, whom they have slapped a £60m price tag on. Manchester City have entered into talks yet again with Blackburn Rovers over the Ewood Park club's Paraguayan striker Roque Santa Cruz. West Ham has pulled off a remarkable coup, securing the services on load of Inter Milan duo Mancini and Luis Jimenez.
