A hands-on Cornish farm stay

Come to Good Farm

"Sentimental townies" should brace themselves for a shock during a stay at Come to Good Farm in Cornwall, says Andrew Purvis in the Daily Telegraph. The option to participate in the farm's day-to-day life comes free with your bed and breakfast. It's a "warts-and-all" experience, with magpie trapping, sheep worming and lamb castrating; but it affords "moments of true magic" for novices of any age – collecting hens' eggs on misty mornings or bottle-feeding orphaned lambs. The farm takes on only two families at a time, and you can do as much or as little hands-on stuff as you like.
Come to Good Farm (01872 863828) has three-night lambing packages from £195 for adults, £65 for children. ·
