Here it is, after all the hype: the Google phone. Well, as close as we'll get, anyway. The first phone in the world to be running Google's Android software, packaged up in a chassis made by HTC (High Tech Computer), and lovingly brought to market by T-Mobile. The 3.5-inch touchscreen is more responsive than many, allowing you to enjoy the nifty interface, with its movable icons, easy-to-access menus and slick messaging applications. Competition for iPhone? Well, yes - with a great web browser, 3G and the potential for terrific applications from Android Marketplace, it bodes well. Those looking for a hardware keyboard Apple alternative should be queuing up to road test it. ·
