Women can look after themselves
Expect to see more pictures like the one of a girl being punched by a man in Hyde Park
Most of us will have found last week's picture on most front pages of a young man punching a girl in the face so forcibly as to lift her off her feet deeply, unbelievably, shocking.
If the young man had been a thug trying to steal a girl's handbag, that would have been bad enough, but for a young man to use that degree of male force against a member of the weaker sex in a mere water frolic among friends in Hyde Park was far, far worse; something which we have never seen before and trust never to have to see again.
Steady on. Did I say "the weaker sex"? Surely one doesn't use that kind of discriminatory language anymore? For nowadays women are meant to be just as well suited to armed combat as men. That is why they are fighting and dying alongside our boys in Afghanistan, and if the law declares that they can be expected to look bearded tribesmen in the eye, there can be no reason to suppose that they can't be expected to exchange punches with young men who lose their tempers when doused with fizzy lemonade.
That is exactly right. Our concern about that girl with a black eye is indeed a bit silly. Either we give up the idea of the male sex naturally protecting the weaker sex, or we give up the idea of women being the equal of men in the armed forces and the police.
Realistically speaking, of course, the feminist movement are not going to give up on that idea. There can be no 'turning back' on that one. So we had better get used to seeing more pictures of this horrible kind in future. ·

The fact is that women are not equal to men. Men and women are hugely different and not just physically. If it was women who had the larger brains and higher IQ's and invented, built, discovered and explored everything, then men would never hear the last of it. If women were the great composers, artists, rock bands etc, the same thing.
No matter how well intentioned their vocation to the job, women have physically compromised and therefore weakened the police force, the army and the fire service. The feminist element amongst them continue to demoralise these forces through their unwarranted promotion demands based solely on gender, continuously driven on by their incessant whining and enabled by similar elements within the media who are looking for exactly the same kind job promotions through unfair favouritism. Feminism in its post modern form never had anything to do with equality anyway, and as for the 50/50 numbers game used to garner special discriminatory measures designed to leapfrog women into higher positions, eg within politics. Politicians aren't there to represent just half of their constituents based on the genitalia they posess between their legs. Let the feminists who demand women only shortlists name the male MP's who refuse to represent their female constituents and watch the law suits fly. It is male issues which are deliberately overlooked in Parliament. And if certain women want all the things that a minority of men have in the supposed heirarchy of society, then they should obtain these positions by merit and merit alone. It might actually help their promotion chances if they stopped attaching their entire persona and identity to their gender. The feminists of the women this, women that, women the other brigade should shut their big bully girl mouths. They have caused enough social carnage as it is.
I'm not attacking normal women here. That said, like the vast majority of men, despite being socio-anthopologically predisposed to protecting women whether they like it or not, I am becoming increasingly convinced that I should over-ride my instictive better half with the new-male half of me that says to hell with them, let them make their own way in life.
Sir Peregrine,
Excellent article as usual. It is a sad commentary on our times, but true!
