South East England to be 'hotter than Portugal'

Parts of England are expected to be hotter than Portugal today – but severe rain will hit Scotland

Parts of south-east England will enjoy temperatures of 24C today – while Scotland suffers radically different weather. A severe weather warning for rain has been issued for Dumfries and the Borders.

April 2015 was the sunniest since records began in 1929 – a trend that seems to be continuing into March in the southern UK. Forecasters expect it to be hotter than parts of Portugal today, reports Sky News.
