Man helps out in a grizzly situation
A man has lassoed and wrestled a two-year-old black bear after it got its head stuck in an empty plastic Cheese Balls jar. Jim Hawkins of Colorado said the animal, who was nicknamed "Jug-head bear", had been spotted a number of times and that he had wanted to help it. He managed to get a rope around the creature, who wrestled with him briefly before climbing a tree. Wildlife officials managed to tranquilise the bear and remove the plastic jar.

Baseball player banned for cutting up uniforms
A professional baseball player has been suspended for five games after he refused to wear a special edition "throwback" uniform this weekend. Chicago White Sox player Chris Sale said the weather was too hot and humid for the old-fashioned kit but team bosses refused to budge – so he took matters into his own hands and cut up the strip so no one could wear it. The game went ahead - without Sale - using uniforms from another period of the club's history
Woman takes dead husband on road trip
A woman has taken her dead husband on a "rolling wake" through Alaska, carrying his body in an aluminium casket in the back of her pick-up truck. The widow, who has not been identified, reportedly stopped at several canneries to fill the truck with ice. Police have now delivered the body to a mortuary and the woman is not expected to face any charges.
