Berry Bros & Rudd: Berry Bros & Rudd Good Ordinary Claret, 2014
Don't let the name fool you, this claret is far from run-of-the-mill. With its instantly appealing and eminently drinkable palate of juicy cherries and bramble fruit with a hint of wood smoke, it's little surprise that it has been Berry Bros & Rudd's bestselling wine for decades. Wine buffs should look out for its limited-edition and collectable labels – its latest, a collaboration with London designer Luke Edward Hall, will be available from 16 February.

Jeroboams: Moss Wood Ribbon Vale Cabernet Sauvignon, 2013
Moss Wood is an important estate in the Wilyabrup region of Western Australia, and its proprietor, Keith Mugford, has been tending the vineyards and making wine there since 1979. This Cabernet Sauvignon is among its premier wines; deep and fruity, it recalls aromas of redcurrant, mulberry and blackberry alongside earthier notes of spice, toasty oak and tar.
