Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has won a title he probably doesn’t want - after topping GQ magazine’s worst-dressed men list.

“We’ve all seen pictures of the gorgeous Brit actor gallivanting around town when he's ‘off-duty’ and we thought he looked rather handsome,” says the Daily Mirror in defence of the 30-year-old actor, who plays King of the North Jon Snow in the HBO blockbuster.

“Don’t worry Kit, we still love you,” Glamour magazine adds.

The annual GQ list threw up a few other surprises. Documentary maker Louis Theroux, 47, and Body Coach Joe Wicks, 31, were also among the “top ten of duff dressers”, The Sun says.

And it seems money can’t buy everything, with Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg, 48 - thought to have been been paid at least £4m from an investment firm during his seven years in Parliament - and Tesla magnet Elon Musk,46, also failing to impress the style bible.

So who came out on top? Matt Smith - star of Netflix hit The Crown - was No. 1 in GQ’s line-up of “style-statement men of distinction”.

Brooklyn Beckham, 18, and the aptly named Harry Styles, 23, also warranted a mention.

All the same, the fashion icons du jour had better not be too complacent, as “the fashion world is fickle and what is ‘legendary’ and ‘sharp’ in July can see you fall out of favour with the elite by December”, warns Sky News.

Although GQ has not yet published its best- and worst-dressed men lists in full, news.com.au has spilled the beans:
