AN ADULT film actor is wanted for questioning in Canada in connection with a case where dismembered body parts were found in the postal system and a parcel containing a foot was delivered to the offices of the Conservative Party of Canada, The Daily Telegraph reports.

Police in Montreal say they are looking for Rocco Luka Magnotta, 29, on suspicion of murder following the gruesome discoveries that started on Tuesday when a package with a crudely drawn heart was delivered to the Ottawa offices of the Conservative Party.

The package was found to contain a human foot – the first of three body parts, all later found to be from the same person, discovered that day.

That same morning, in Montreal, a janitor opened a foul-smelling suitcase found in an alley near the apartment where he works. Inside, there was a human torso.

On Tuesday evening, the police searched a postal sorting station in Ottawa and found a parcel that was addressed to the Liberal Party of Canada. It contained a human hand.

Police say Magnotta has worked as a model and a stripper and has appeared in adult films. Canadian news organisations reported that police had recovered videos of the killing and dismemberment of the victim, whose identity they know but have not released.

The Montreal Gazette said: "He appears to have posted on Friday what looks like a horrible video of a man murdering, sexually assaulting and dismembering a young man."

Magnotta lived in an apartment in a working-class Montreal neighbourhood. Commander Ian Lafreniere of Montreal police said that the victim's other hand and foot were found in the apartment but that other body parts remained missing, raising the possibility that they were still making their way through the postal system.

Eric Schorer, the manager of the building where the suspect lived, said Magnotta had been living there for about four months but hadn't been seen around in a while. "He seemed like a nice guy," Schorer said.

Several papers also reported that the Magnotta also had a blog in which he described himself as a "necrophiliac cannibal". ·
