New high-quality colour footage of John F Kennedy arriving in Dallas on the day of his assassination has gone on display at the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas.

The 8mm film of JFK and his wife Jackie landing at Love Field aboard Air Force One and greeting the waiting crowds was taken by William Ward Warren, who was then a 15-year-old schoolboy.

The clip, taken on November 22, 1963, provides close-up footage of the couple and has been donated to the museum by Warren, now 61.

The footage went on display to the public for the first time on Presidents Day at the museum, which occupies the sixth floor of the old Texas Book Depository in Dallas, from where Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK. ·
