Hotel of the week: Tuckers Point, Bermuda
Lose yourself in this Bermudan paradise steeped in colonial history
Britain's oldest colony is celebrating its 400th birthday with the opening of its first new luxury hotel in over 35 years”, says Sarah Gilbert in The Independent on Sunday. Part of the exclusive Tucker’s Point Club, it is set in 200 waterfront acres on the cliff-top site of the old Castle Harbour Hotel, once frequented by Vanderbilts and Rockefellers. The décor is “British colonial, with a contemporary twist”; rooms are “spacious”, with great beds and “huge tubs”; and the hotel has three infinity pools and a private beach. The food is perhaps the best of its kind on the island.
