Hotel of the week: Feversham Arms, N. Yorks
Hotel of the week: an unpretentious home-from-home with an outdoor heated pool
You could scarcely ask for a cosier place to relax after a walk on the North York Moors than the Feversham Arms, says Carola Long in the Independent. Situated in the pretty market town of Helmsley, it recently scooped the AA Hotel of the Year award for its "welcoming, home-from-home atmosphere".
Within its honey coloured stone walls you'll find "unpretentious décor, a well-equipped spa" and good food, and outside, "the jewel in the crown": a heated pool. The only things to watch out for are the beds (too soft), and the "petite double" rooms (small and a little "worn").
