Hotel of the Week: Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons

Hosted by Raymond Blanc

The double Michelin-starred restaurant of the Manoir aux Quat' Saisons is justly famous, says Jane Knight in the Times. The guest rooms above it are less well known - and yet there is no doubt that the patron, Raymond Blanc, lavishes as much care and creativity on them as on his superb dishes. Each room has evolved according to a unique theme, often incorporating works of art discovered by Blanc on his travels. A visit to Thailand inspired the Lemongrass Room (pictured), with its pale green furnishings, huge bed on a raised dais and enormous fish tank.
Rooms from £430 b&b. Contact: 01844 278881; www.manoir.com. ·
