Hotel of the Week: Shanghai Park Hyatt

The highest hotel in the world

LAST UPDATED AT 15:41 ON Wed 11 Feb 2009

Shanghai's new Park Hyatt is the highest hotel in the world, occupying the top floors of the city's 101-storey World Finance Centre; and with floor-to-ceiling windows throughout, guests don't miss out on a single degree of the astonishing views, says Lucinda Baring in the Sunday Telegraph.

Despite the grandiose setting, two of the hotel's restaurants are "cosy", with "plenty of booths for a quiet candlelit dinner". The third, 100 Century Avenue, on the 91st floor, is "vibrant and happening" - currently "the talk of the town".

Doubles from £492 per night, with a special rate of £296 (plus a 15% service charge) until the end of February. Contact: 0845-888 1234; www.hyatt.com. ·
