Exclusive video: Rachel Weisz in Agora
Rachel Weisz plays the brilliant 4th-century astronomer Hypatia
Rachel Weisz's latest film Agora tells the true story of the brilliant astronomer Hypatia who stood up against religious persecution in 4th century Egypt.
In this exclusive clip, Hypatia (Weisz) and her disciples are trapped within the walls of Alexandria's great Library following violent clashes between the seemingly unstoppable Christian zealots and other religions.
Among the Hypatia's group are two young men who are both in love with her: the witty, privileged Orestes and her young slave Davus, who is played by Max Minghella.
Weisz revealed at the Cannes film festival last year that she did not ask for a 'body double' for Agora's nude scenes, feeling 'fit' enough to do the job herself.
The Oscar-winning actress, 38, is being tipped to play Jackie Kennedy in a new film about the late First Lady.
'Agora' opens in the UK on Friday April 23. ·
