Katy Perry and Beckham in new Adidas ad

Adidas launched its biggest marketing campaign ever yesterday: an advert featuring singer Katy Perry alongside Lionel Messi, David Beckham and a host of other stars.

The glossy commercial, filmed by French director Romain Gavras, shows snippets of its protagonists doing what they do best. Footballer Messi skips past opponents and inspires fans in his Argentina shirt. Katy Perry practices her seductive dance moves alongside her troupe in front of a mirror. David Beckham poses. And all to the throbbing dance track Civilisation from electronic duo Justice.

The advert is part of the 'All adidas' campaign, created and produced by Montreal-based agency Sid Lee. It is the first time the German sportswear giant has ever used its three sub-brands - adidas Sport Performance, adidas Originals and adidas Sport Style – in a single campaign. As such, a wide variety of names from the worlds of fashion, sport and music were deliberately chosen for the commercial. ·
