Angry hamster takes on two men - and wins

A furious hamster who took on two Russian men and won has become a YouTube hit, after Stephen Fry alerted his followers on Twitter to footage of the rodent's heroics.

The video shows the critter, a very wild cousin of the cute children's pet, standing on its back legs and leaping at the two men as they appear to try and pick it up. It even manages to draw blood with its teeth and claws when one of the men's fingers gets too close.

The men came across the animal in the middle of a track and appear to be trying to move it to the side of the road, but the angry rodent is less than impressed by their attempts to move it along, even attacking their shoes.

Eventually they lure the animal into an attack on one of their sandals, and with the hamster clinging onto it, deposit it into the grass on the side of the road. ·
