Obama vs Hu Jintao in currency war rap

Video: US and Chinese presidents spit rhymes and throw shapes in the latest animated send-up

It's the currency war as you've never seen it before: China's president Hu Jintao traps Barack Obama in a glass box marked "US Deficits" and slowly fills it with blood as the two world leaders have a good ol' fashioned rap battle to settle their global economic concerns.

The scene features in the latest offering from Taiwanese animation company, NMA TV, that creates imaginative and educational videos based on issues making headlines around the world.

Subjects so far have included Gordon Brown's violent temper tantrums, Tiger Woods's car crash and a small army of Pedobears attacking children as a warning about the dangers of social media.

In the new video titled US-Sino Currency Rap Battle, Obama accuses China of artificially lowering the yuan to gain an advantage in global exports – all in a hip hop style, of course.

"Protectionism ain't cool... it's understood/ An undervalued yuan inflates the price of US goods," raps the US president.

But Hu Jintao doesn't take those sort of insults lying down and hits back: "You are the one to blame for the great recession/ So don't come round looking for concessions."

As tensions mount at the G20 in South Korea, maybe frustrated negotiators could suggest a rap battle as a way for these "frenemies" to come to some agreement? ·
