London riots: looters mug injured boy
A bleeding teenager was 'helped' then robbed by thugs (with video)
A video that appears to show an injured boy being mugged during Monday's riots in London has appeared on YouTube. The shocking, 75-second clip shows the teenager, who is bleeding from the nose or mouth, sitting on the pavement with his hands to his face before he is helped up by a passer-by. The man in a tracksuit bends down to pick him up and puts his arm round him.
But then the 'good Samaritan' unzips the dazed teenager's backpack and, helped by another youth, begins rifling through his belongings. Two more males, one on a bike, also come up and take what they can from the bag.
At least a dozen other rioters look on as the robbery takes place. It is not known how the boy was injured or where exactly the footage was taken, but it does appear genuine. ·
