Russell Crowe posts video of 'Sydney UFO' on YouTube
Actor captured images of 'spacecraft' while filming fruitbats in Wooloomooloo
AUSTRALIAN actor Russell Crowe has posted a YouTube video, which he says shows a UFO flying past the window of his office in the Sydney suburb of Woolloomooloo.
The star of Gladiator and Les Miserables uploaded a link to the 23-second clip on Twitter this morning along with a message that read: "UFO? Time Lapse Photos Outside RC's Woolloomooloo Office (THESE ARE REAL!)"
He later revealed that the pictures were taken when he and a friend set up a camera to try and film fruitbats in the Botanical Gardens in Sydney.
The images, taken three years ago but only released today, show two bright shapes moving across the screen, linked by an orange beam of light.
Crowe said he had calculated that the lights must have been travelling at 80kph, and insisted that it could not have been created by light interference as they move across the screen and the images were shot outside, not from behind glass.
"I don't know what it is, but to call it fake is moronic," tweeted Crowe, after a largely sceptical response from the public.
However, there were plenty of other theories including car headlights, mobile phones or reflections from flourescent lights.
