Mervyn King calls for united action on trade at G20
Bank governor warns that next year will be ‘difficult and dangerous’ without a pact
Bank of England governor Mervyn King has backed President Barack Obama's call for G20 leaders meeting in Seoul to agree united action to tackle global trade imbalances.
"We are very much in the position that we need to demonstrate now that every country is determined to work together to a joint mutual resolution of these imbalances," King said.
"If we don't do that, then I fear that the next 12 months will be an even more difficult and dangerous period than the one we've been through."
