Toyota set to recall another 1.5 million cars
Business Digest: Brake and fuel pump defects prompt yet another Toyota recall
Toyota has announced a recall of over 1.5 million cars worldwide after finding brake and fuel pump defects.
America and Japan are the worst countries affected with 740,000 cars and 600,000 cars involved respectively.
The faults, which could result in fluid leaking from the brake master cylinder, are not said to be dangerous although braking performance could "gradually decline".
Even after the brake warning light is triggered, drivers still have another 200 miles to find help before brake performance deteriorates.
Car owners will be notified early in November, and the manufacturer will arrange for the brake master cylinder cup to be replaced with a newly designed version.
This recall announcement is Toyota's 14th in 12 months. They have already recalled more than 10 million cars this year.
