Technology giants declare truce in their long-running patent dispute, dismissing all current lawsuits

Apple and HTC have declared a truce in their long-running patent dispute, the New York Times reports. The companies said the settlement includes the dismissal of all current lawsuits and sets up a ten-year license agreement that includes rights to current and future patents held by both parties. Details of the agreement remain confidential. It is the first settlement between Apple and a maker of Android mobile handsets. Apple’s patent disputes with Samsung, the biggest Android handset maker, continue.
