Santander loses two more top execs to Lloyds

Business digest: Colombas and Lorenzo go with their boss as Ana Patricia Botin starts at Santander UK

Following the departure of their chief executive António Horta-Osório to take over from Eric Daniels at Lloyds, two of Santander UK's senior executives are to join him, it was announced yesterday.

They are head of risk Juan Colombás and chief financial officer Antonio Lorenzo. Colombas will join Lloyds as chief risk officer and Lorenzo as director of the wealth and international division.

Ana Patricia Botín (above), daughter of the Madrid-based Santander's chairman, Emilio Botion, has received approval from the Financial Services Authority to take over as CEO in London from Horta-Osório. She assumes her new duties today, becoming the first woman ever to run a major UK high street bank.
