Real Madrid transfer news: Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale may leave

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos says Cristiano Ronaldo must clarify comments he made about his future after last night’s Champions League final win against Liverpool in Kiev.

After Real’s 3-1 victory Ronaldo was interviewed by beIN Sports and he told the broadcaster “it was very nice to be at Real Madrid”. Ronaldo added: “In the coming days I will give a response to the fans, who have always been at my side.”

Could this mean a Bernabeu exit for the Portugal icon? He later told the Antena 3: “The future of players isn’t important right now. I have no doubts, it’s not important right now.

“Later I’ll rest and go with the national team. We will see what happens.”

Ronaldo’s comments may come as a shock to Real fans, but Marca says that while skipper Ramos is not overly concerned, he does want the striker to confirm his future.

“I suppose he will have been speaking about a summary of the season,” said Ramos. “If there is something there, he must clarify it today. He is a key piece for us. He could not be in a better place.”

Bale: I need to play every week

Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid future is also up in the air after the Welsh star said he will sit with his agent and discuss his options this summer.

Bale scored twice against Liverpool in Kiev - including an incredible overhead kick - to secure a third Champions League title in a row for the Spaniards.

Quoted by The Guardian, Bale said: “I need to be playing week-in, week-out and that hasn’t happened this season for one reason or another. I have to sit down in the summer and discuss my future with my agent and take it from there.”
