Laurence Fishburne’s pals tried to quash porn video
Actor’s friends offered £1m to buy all copies of porn film starring his daughter
As Hollywood actor Laurence Fishburne reels from the news that his 19-year-old daughter Montana is to star in a hardcore porn film, it’s been claimed his friends tried to buy up every copy to spare his blushes.
According to gossip website TMZ.com, Fishburne’s friends offered porn producers Vivid Entertainment $1 million for all the DVDs of Montana Exposed, in which the actor’s daughter, Montana Fishburne, stars with one Brian Pumper. Vivid say they would have complied – but the film had already been shipped to sellers.
The site claims that Fishburne’s friends hired Yale Galanter, the celebrity lawyer who has just helped Charlie Sheen escape jail over assaulting his wife, to approach the pornographers. Galanter would not comment, but Vivid boss Steve Hirsch said: “It's true that we had several conversations with Mr. Galanter. We would have stopped shipment but it was too late.”
Laurence Fishburne, who is 49, stars in the Matrix movies and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The first African-American actor to play Othello in a motion picture by a major studio, he got his first big break as Mr Clean in Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now.
Twice married, Fishburne has two children by his first wife – Langston and Montana – and a three-year-old daughter Delilah with second, actress Gina Torres. As well as acting, he has written plays and directed and produced movies.
Montana revealed last week that she was starting what she hopes will ultimately be a Hollywood acting career with a role in a hardcore film. "The first time is really nerve racking,” she said, “but, I have a lot of at-home experience."
Vivid Entertainment is behind the distribution of several celebrity sex tapes, including those of Paris Hilton and reality TV star Kim Kardashian. The difference, of course, is that those tapes were not intended for public viewing.
But Montana hopes her sex tape will still catapault her into the mainstream, citing Kardashian’s career as a model. She said: “I've watched how successful Kim Kardashian became and I think a lot of it was due to the release of her sex tape. I'm hoping the same magic will work for me.”
Montana also admitted: “My dad is very upset. I heard that he's mad at me but … I feel pretty confident that I can work things out with him.” ·
