Naked photos of teenage Kate Moss up for auction
Meanwhile Moss unveils latest Topshop collection with soft-focus shoot
A set of photographs of a naked teenage Kate Moss are expected to fetch as much as £30,000 when they are auctioned at Christie's in London this Friday. The 14 black and white photos by the US-based portrait photgrapher Albert Watson come as a contact sheet which has been blown up to a 7ft-wide artwork and mounted on aluminium.
Watson shot the photos of a waifish-looking Moss in Marrakech in 1993, when the British model was aged 19. In May 2007 a single image of Moss from the same shoot sold at Christie's for £54,000.
Christie's international head of photograph sales, Philippe Garner, said that the contact-sheet collection of images will have a far-reaching appeal beyond the specialist world of photography. "Kate Moss is one of the lasting emblems of this age's ideal of beauty," he said.
Meanwhile Moss's latest photo shoot - for her new Topshop collection - is in stark contrast to Watson's black and white images (see video above).
Fashion photographer Nick Knight has shot Moss, 36, with a very soft focus lens and bright back-lighting to show off the capsule collection of floaty, see-through summer dresses and sheer blouses.
Moss said that, once again, she took inspiration from her own wardrobe when creating her 12th 'Kate Moss for Topshop' collection. "I just think of what I want to wear in the summer. They're all still really me." ·
