Patrizia D’Addario begins a nightclub act as PM continues to boast about his night of passion

The callgirl at the centre of the Silvio Berlusconi scandal has taken her 'act' to a Paris nightclub. Patrizia D'Addario, who claims to have recorded the night she spent last November in the Italian PM's bedroom in Rome, turned up at Le Globo club to host an ironic 'I Love Silvio' evening last week.

Interviewed by the Sunday Times, she said: "I love Paris, it's a beautiful city in which to start a new life. I feel much safer here compared with in Italy."

This was taken to be a reference to the reported burglary at her apartment following her very public offensive against Berlusconi. "It was very traumatising, they took everything, even my lingerie," she said. "Obviously they were looking for something, but I don't know what. I don't feel safe any more. I've been living like a recluse."

D'Addario said her life as an 'escort' was over and that she was considering taking part in a reality TV show. In the meantime, she intends to remain in Paris. For how long, could be down to Benjamin Patou, owner of Le Globo, who invited D'Addario to appear there because he had been "greatly amused" by the Berlusconi scandal. How long D'Addario can keep it up is a moot point: regular customers at Le Globo appeared distinctly unimpressed. "Who is she anyway?" 25-year-old Sandrine asked the Sunday Times reporter.

Berlusconi continues to deny ever having paid for sex, but has not denied spending the night with D'Addario whose visits to the Palazzo Grazioli was arranged by the Italian businessman Gianpaolo Tarantini. Indeed, Berlusconi has sought to make light of his night of passion by telling a group of business leaders last month: "I am not a saint".

According to La Repubblica, the Italian daily which last month posted several snippets from D'Addario's recordings, Berlusconi called a meeting of party MPs at the Palazzo Grazioli before they went on their summer holidays last week.

As the meeting was about to break up, Berluconi asked the MPs: "Have you heard the latest one about La D'Addario?"

Go on, tell us, they said.

The PM responded: "She says Berlusconi may not, in fact, be a saint. But he fucks like a god!" ·
