Spielberg sacked Megan Fox for Hitler outburst
Director Michael Bay has revealed the true reason why Fox left his Transformers franchise
Hollywood bigwig Steven Spielberg demanded that Megan Fox be fired from the Transformers franchise after she compared Michael Bay to Adolf Hitler, it has emerged.
In an interview to publicise his forthcoming blockbuster movie
Transformers: Dark of the Moon, director Bay said: "You know the Hitler thing. Steven said, fire her right now."
Spielberg, an executive producer of Transformers, was reacting to an interview that Fox gave to Wonderland magazine in September 2009, in which she said of Bay: "He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he's a nightmare to work for, but when you get him away from set, and he's not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he's so awkward."
An anonymous blog posting, purportedly from crew members on the Transformers franchise later branded Fox as "dumb as a rock". Bay played down both outbursts, saying he was not offended by the Hitler comment, and in a posting on his own blog a month later looked forward to working with Fox on Transformers 3.
However, in May 2010, it was revealed that Fox would be replaced by underwear model Rosie Huntington-Whitely. Fox claimed it was her own decision to leave.
If it is true that Fox is in Spielberg's bad books, it may help to explain why the actress, who has featured frequently on lists of sexiest and hottest actors in recent years, has failed to secure a role in any blockbusters since leaving Transformers. ·
