Rapper and reality TV star are expecting their first child, but don’t expect it to be called Kris

KIM KARDASHIAN only seems to date successful men whose names begin with 'K', so finding someone to father her first child was never going to be easy.

Luckily for the American reality TV star and occasional fashion designer, the abrupt end of her 72-day marriage to basketball player Kris Humphries was followed earlier this year by a new relationship with the US rapper Kanye West. Now 'Kimye' – as West and 32-year-old Kardashian are known to fans – are having a kid.

The news came not in the traditional way – via Twitter – but half-way through West's show in Atlantic City on Sunday night. "Can we make some noise for my baby mama right quick?" the 35-year-old rapper asked his 5,000-strong audience at the Revel Resort’s Ovation Hall.

West’s announcement was soon confirmed by Kardashian’s sisters Kourtney and Khloe. “Another angel to welcome to our family. Overwhelmed with excitement!” tweeted Kourtney.

Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, also used Twitter to express her excitement, tweeting, "Oh BABY BABY BABY!!"

Technically, Kardashian is still married to Humphries with whom she tied the knot in August 2011, The Independent points out. Despite the fact Humphries spelled his name with a ‘K’ and the lavish wedding was broadcast on E!, the couple separated after 72 days and their divorce is not yet finalised.

News of Kardashian’s pregnancy sparked a storm of postings on Twitter under the Kimye hashtag. Some speculated that West’s "healthy ego" would see him name his child "Kanye, or perhaps Babye," Fox8 reported.

The Daily Mail has combined pictures of the happy couple to create computer-generated images of what the Kimye offspring might look like as a baby and a teen. Combining her "flawless Armenian-American looks" and his "handsome features and dapper style" the Kimye offspring will be "both cute and cool" the paper concludes.
