DAVID BRENT is back. Ricky Gervais is reviving the infamous character from The Office a decade after the BBC show was last on our screens, in aid of Comic Relief.

In the trailer Brent is seen telling BBC documentary makers: "What’s happened in the last 10 years? What hasn’t happened in the last 10 years? Probably the best 10 years of my life, filled with so many interesting things."

In the one-off show, The Office Revisited, we will see Brent selling cleaning products to offices to help fund his dream of working in the music business. We’ll also see a video for Brent's self-funded "reggae protest song" Equality Street, which Gervais has promised is "amazingly cringeworthy".

In his blog, Gervais says he thought it was time to revisit his famous "comedy creation" Brent. "He's passing on his wisdom to younger would-be rockstars now and is living vicariously through a young performer, Dom Johnson. Well, really he is trying to worm his way back into rock and roll", says Gervais.

The Office Revisited will be shown on Red Nose Day - Friday, 15 March on BBC1.
