Nancy Dell’Olio’s latest flame: Sir Trevor Nunn

Nancy Dell'Olio is a modern renaissance woman, it would seem. The 49-year-old Italian whose former boyfriend, then England football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, famously cheated on her is now embroiled in a relationship with theatre director Sir Trevor Nunn.

Nancy's move fom the stands to the stalls is not without controversy however – as Sir Trevor is a married man. Nancy and Sir Trevor are enjoying a romantic break in Cornwall this weekend, reports the Mail on Sunday, while his wife, actress Imogen Stubbs, remains in the family home in London.

According to the paper, a source claims the Nunns' marriage broke down a year ago – but yesterday Stubbs emerged from her London home and told reporters: "We haven't split up."

She added: "We are going through a very difficult time. I'm afraid you'll have to excuse me but I have to go to my lawyers."

At 50, Stubbs is 21 years younger than her director husband, with whom she has two children. Sir Trevor has just taken up a new post as artistic director of the Theatre Royal in London's Haymarket. ·
