Charlie Sheen goes ape after Warner Bros axe him
Sheen climbs building clasping machete and bottle of ‘Tiger Blood’ after being fired from Two and a Half Men
Warner Brothers bowed to the inevitable yesterday and sacked Charlie Sheen from its hit show Two and a Half Men, sparking another bout of bizarre behaviour from the increasingly haywire actor.
"After careful consideration, Warner Bros TV has terminated Charlie Sheen's services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately," the network said in a statement - curiously refusing to say whether the Sheen vehicle would actually be cancelled.
Sheen reacted to the news combatively, telling TMZ: "This is very good news. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of the bazillions, never have to look at whatshiscock again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension."
Sheen's lawyer, Marty Singer, told The Hollywood Reporter that the actor planned to institute legal action against Warner Bros. "We will sue," Singer said. "It's a matter of when. It could be this week, it could be in a little while. We're in no rush. But we will sue."
The star was seen apparently celebrating his dismissal late yesterday, climbing to the top of the office building of live-events company Live Nation in Beverly Hills while clasping a machete and a bottle of liquid labelled 'Tiger Blood'. "I ain't gonna go to fucking Disneyland, I'll tell you that much," he told reporters who inquired after his future plans.
Having evoked the spirit of King Kong with his aerial escapades, he later echoed Martin Luther King, saying he was "free at last, free at last".
The firing, which brings to an end another act in the remarkable life story of the 45-year-old, came after a six-week period of chaos in Sheen's life which began on January 27, when the actor was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with "severe abdominal pains" after a 36-hour party in which he reportedly smoked "tennis-ball sized rocks of cocaine".
Astonishingly, Sheen may not be unemployed for long. As reported by The First Post yesterday, cable network billionaire Mark Cuban has had "conversations" with the actor about the recent series of home-made webcasts that have been broadcast. The two are now free to work together. ·

This is all very sad. There is no doubt in my mind that something unhealthy and abusive is going on here. I can't help feeling that the positive reinforcement of Sheen's behaviour by this hugely successful (and entertaining) show has contributed to his malaise. His bad boy antics were OK with the bosses when they were boosting ratings.
So long Charlie
