MARIAH CAREY has given the thumbs up to a Royal Navy crew after they used one of her hit singles in a video to celebrate coming home in time for Christmas.

The pop diva tweeted a link to the comedy clip, which includes scenes of sailors singing in the shower, saying: “This is the best thing I've ever seen, you guys just made my day!”

The YouTube video, which has been viewed more than 700,000 times, sees the crew miming along to her 1994 hit single All I Want for Christmas in a number of slapstick poses. Several crew members are decked in Christmas pudding and present costumes, while one dons a Geri Halliwell-style ‘Union Jack’ dress and another is served champagne in the bath.

HMS Ocean is due to sail into Devonport tomorrow, bringing home the musical crew after 225 days away on operations, according to the Plymouth Herald.
