Sci-fi movie uses drunk actors and scriptwriters - video
Written and acted under the influence, Star Drunk's characters stagger through a universe far, far away
SOME movies are so bad they're best enjoyed after a few pints. But the makers of the sci-fi flick Star Drunk have broken new ground by using smashed actors and a script penned by plastered screenwriters.
The five-minute masterpiece - sponsored by a US distillery – was directed by Chris R. Wilson and Zach Persson, two screenwriters from Portland.
Clearly influenced by Star Wars and Battlestar Gallactica, their movie features a team of under-the-influence actors slurring and staggering their way through a universe far, far away.
"The production values are really good and it's genuinely funny," writes Hazel Paterson in Metro. "The actors are seen downing shots during their epic galactic battle and if you have any reason to doubt their genuine inebriation then you really should watch their behind the scenes footage."
It's worth noting that the closing credits include a message to "drink responsibly" and points out that New Deal Distillery doesn't condone drunk acting. ·
