Titus Bramble arrested on suspicion of rape
Bramble and his brother Tesfaye have both been arrested after the alleged rape of a young woman in Newcastle
Sunderland defender Titus Bramble and his brother have both been arrested on suspicion of rape today.
The 29-year old (above left), who missed yesterday's Carling Cup defeat to West Ham, was detained after police received a report of the rape of a young woman in the early hours of this morning.
Former England Under-21 star Bramble, and his brother, Tesfaye, 30, were today being questioned by detectives investigating the alleged attack which happened at a Newcastle city centre hotel.
The former Ipswich and Newcastle defender was signed for Sunderland by manager Steve Bruce, from Wigan this summer.
His brother's career has been less distinguished, but it includes international football for Montserrat and non-league football at Leiston, Suffolk, where he currently plays.
The alleged rape is thought to have taken place at Newcastle's four-star Vermont Hotel. ·
