Marouane Chamakh, the Bordeaux striker who was linked with a stream of clubs during the last transfer window but who chose to remain with Laurent Blanc's Girondins, is now being linked to a move to Old Trafford. The Daily Mail says today that the 25-year-old's recent performances have alerted Sir Alex Ferguson to the player who also interested Arsenal, West Ham and Sunderland during summer. The link between Ferguson and Blanc, a former Manchester United player, could prove useful in bringing the Moroccan international to the Premier League...

Brazilian striker Robinho, the man whose transfer to Manchester City ushered in the free-spending era at Eastlands, could be the first of the Mossside Galacticos to exit the club, as the Daily Mirror claims that a £34m transfer deal to Barcelona has been hammered out. The European champions will offer the 25-year-old - who is currently out injured - a six-year deal worth £30m to join them, and would be happy to offer the star, who last month said he wanted to leave City, a loan before making the transfer permanent. With 28 caps for his international team Spain and more than 200 for financially troubled Valencia, Vicente's capture would be quite a coup. However there are long-term injury worries about the midfielder - he missed much of the 2006-07 season with an ankle injury and lost his place in the starting line-up at the Mestalla to youngster Mata last time season...

Carlo Ancelotti may have had the transfer ban on Chelsea suspended last week by Fifa, but he remains uncertain about whether he will be active in the transfer market during the next window. "We have the problem that some players will leave for the African Nations Cup. However, I think that even in January we will remain as we are," he told the Italian media. However the Chelsea boss did lay down markers on a couple of long-term Stamford Bridge targets, Sergio Aguero of Atletico Madrid and Alexandre Pato of AC Milan. "Aguero? All teams follow young talent and he is certainly one of them, like Pato. But Pato will stay with Milan." Aguero impressed against the Blues last week, scoring both goals for the La Liuga side in a 2-2 draw in the Champions League... ·
