Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery seems set to stay with his current club for the time being - but says that he intends to play in Spain at some point.

Ribery was reportedly the target for several clubs over the summer including Manchester United and Real Madrid - however, no deal could be thrashed out.

The player has denied that there is an agreement between Real and Bayern for him to join the Spanish giants next summer, but said: "My preference is to move to Spain. One day I will play in La Liga."

The arrival of Arjen Robben at Bayern was seen by many as an indication that Ribery would be sold. Instead the pair played together against German champions Wolsburg at the weekend, and formed a deadly partnership as Bayern won 3-0.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is raiding his former club Portsmouth yet again - this time to aquire the services of midfielder Niko Kranjcar for a fee of £2.5m.

Kranjcar is seen as a replacement for fellow Croatian Luca Modric, who broke his leg at the weekend. Redknapp is also being linked with Martin Petrov, but Mark Hughes is said to be resisting his overtures. ·
