Everton have finally agreed to sell defender Joleon Lescott to Manchester City bringing one of the longest-running sagas of the summer to a conclusion. However, after agreeing a £24m fee for the player David Moyes will still report City over their pursuit of the defender.

Mark Hughes first inquired about signing Lescott in the January transfer window and followed up that interest with bids of £15m and £18m, which were rejected. Lescott then handed in a transfer request which was at first rebuffed...
