£15m Bosingwa to leave Chelsea; Man City bid £22m for Lescott
Transfer Talk: Bayern Munich deny any deal for Franck Ribery but chase Bosingwa, while Mancunians up their bid for Everton’s defender
Jose Bosingwa could be on his way from Chelsea to Bayern Munich for £15m, the Daily Mail claims, but the Bavarians have denied that there will be any transfer activity in reverse, namely for Franck Ribery. The German club's general manager Uli Hoeness said: "'We need a strong, experienced defender on the right side, especially if we use Ribery in a more offensive role, as is being considered. We want only Bosingwa and have no interest in any other player for this position. Chelsea agreed to give us a signal after the Community Shield that they were ready to talk and we are waiting for contact from them." It was reported yesterday that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was flying to Munich to set up a deal for Ribery...
Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is making life as difficult as possible for Everton boss David Moyes at the moment, returning with a bid in excess of £22m for their England international defender Joleon Lescott. The Times reports that the player submitted a formal written transfer request yesterday, which was immediately rejected by Moyes. The Ulsterman has one of the smallest squads in the Premier League - a fact ably demonstrated by the tail off in Villa performances in the latter part of the last season - and wants to increase his options. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp would be happy to off-load Bentley, and could agree a deal over Jenas, but would certainly be eyeing a large fee or a swap deal for Ashley Young at the least in return...
David Beckham looks likely to snub a return to the Premier League with Chelsea or Spurs and is set to be reunited with his erstwhile employers AC Milan when his deal with the Los Angeles Galaxy comes to an end in December. The Daily Mirror reports a Beckham spokesman as saying: "There is no deal yet but Milan have made it clear they would like David to return. At this stage it is still early in the negotiations between Milan and the Galaxy." As reported yesterday, Fabio Capello has made it clear to Becks that he must play in Europe if he is to make the squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, should England qualify... ·
