Cristiano Ronaldo has proclaimed his loyalty to Manchester United, telling the News of the World that Old Trafford is his "home" and that manager Sir Alex Ferguson is like a "second father to me". The European and FIFA World Player of the Year batted away reports of a renewed £70m bid by Real Madrid, saying: "We are part of an era that can go down in history for the way we are playing and for the trophies we are winning. The boss believes in this team and so do I. And this is where I want to be. Manchester United is now my house."

• Meanwhile Ferguson is resigned to the probable departure of Carlos Tevez, with the Argentinian’s representatives pushing for a new £25 million contract, which United are unwilling to pay due to financial constraints. "It is a difficult situation which we are still trying to sort out," Ferguson told the Mail on Sunday. "There's not a lot we can do if he decides to go. It will depend on which club can offer the deal his representatives are looking for."

• Arsene Wenger has hinted at a return by Thierry Henry to Arsenal, revealing to the News of the World that he still talks to the former Gunners striker, who still watches all the Gunners’ games on television.

• Chelsea are eyeing up Atletico Madrid's £50m-rated Sergio Aguero – Maradona’s son-in-law - and Wolfsburg's Bosnian striker Edin Dzerko, as they plan for life without Didier Drogba at Stamford Bridge, the News of the World reports. ·
