Liverpool will pay up to £50m for Carlos Tevez
Rafa Benitez will offer £26m plus a staggering £160,000-a-week in wages to secure the services of the unsettled Manchester United striker
The race for Carlos Tevez hotted up yesterday when Liverpool indicated that they would be willing to bid up to £50m for Manchester United's unsettled Argentinean hitman, according to the Sun. If true, the staggering figure - made up off £26m in transfer fees and £160,000-a-week wages - will blow Spurs out of the race for the 25-year-old. Harry Redknapp had been told by the Tottenham board that he could bid up to £18m for Tevez, but that sum is dwarfed by the Anfield offer...
Emmanuel Adebayor's future remains uncertain, but it's fair to guess that the Togolese striker won't be staying at Arsenal after his agent said he had "no clue" about where his client would be plying his trade next season. Stephane Courbis told the Guardian that "For the moment now is not the time to answer [questions about his future]. When the season will be finished we will see. Meanwhile his Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has committed himself to the club after a day of boardroom wrangles at the Emirates.
