The Italians tried to bring the Togolese striker to the San Siro last summer, but should face little opposition from Arsenal this time around

AC Milan's owner - and Italy's prime minister - Silvio Berlusconi has targeted Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor as the club's main summer transfer. Adebayor had been pursued by the Rossoneri last summer, and on that occasion used the Serie A club's interest to screw a renewed contract of £80,000 a week out of the north Londoners. However after a season of disappointing performances for Arsene Wenger's underachievers, the Togolese striker appears to be on the market, although Berlusconi will have to fight Chelsea for the 25-year-old's signature...

Ronaldinho has denied reports that he will be tempted, perhaps by a wheelbarrow full of 500 Euro notes, to join Manchester City this summer, insisting that he is enjoying life at AC Milan despite making limited starts this season. The moneybags Mancunians were reported to have bid £10m to bring the 29-year-old Brazilian to Eastlands, but it appears that life on the well-upholstered benches of the San Siro is preferable to turning out for the most hysterical team in the Premier League. Funny that... ·
