Corinthians make bold loan bid for Carlos Tevez
The Argentine’s former club lines up a loan deal that would unite the Man Utd player with three-time world player of the year Ronaldo
The Carlos Tevez - wait for it - saga took another extraordinary turn at the weekend when it emerged that his former club Corinthians are looking to sign the Argentinean on a one-year loan deal and partner him up front with three-time world player of year Ronaldo. The move is likely to prove just a sideshow to the main events of the summer transfer window - the 25-year-old's decision about where he will ply his trade next season. His body language on Saturday at old Trafford after Man Utd won the Premier league suggests that he won't be lining up for Sir Alex Ferguson next season, but whether he will be tempted by Manchester City or Liverpool remains to be seen...

The Frenchman declared the prospect "interesting", which immediately set off alarm bells for the Arsenal hierarchy, who will be mindful of how much Wenger has done for the club on such scant resources as he has had...David Bentley and Roman Pavlyuchenko are heading for the exit at White Hart Lane, despite both arriving at Tottenham for substantial amounts of money less than a year ago. Bentley has essentially been told to look for a new club by boss Harry Redknapp, who said: "David is obviously going to think, 'hang on, I'm not in the team even when Aaron Lennon's not fit, and maybe it's time I moved on'." Pavlyuchenko seems likely to leave after running straight off the pitch on Saturday, straight into the changing rooms. His fit of pique displeased Redknapp, who sarcastically applauded the misfit Russian as he left the pitch and later castigated him to the press... ·
