Everyone seems agreed that Cesc Fabregas is finally on his way to Barcelona but on the other hand each paper has its own take on the fee. According to the Sun, the Arsenal midfielder will sell Fabregas to Barcelona for £35.9m, of which £4.5m will come from the Spaniard's own bank account. Apparently he'll pay the Gunners £900,000-a-year for the next five years as part of his contract with the Catalan club.

The Daily Mail states that Fabregas has been sold for a mere £31m with the one sticking point being the timing of the payment. The paper claims that Arsenal want the bulk of the payment - £25.5 – now and the rest in instalments but that Barcelona would prefer to pay £18m now. As for the Telegraph, they claim that the deal is worth £36m with the Gunners still trying to squeeze an extra £1m from the European Champions. And its the Telegraph which also states that Arsenal will sell to Samir Nasri to Manchester City at the weekend provided the Sky Blues come up with £23m.

Meanwhile Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh has fuelled rumours that the Gunners might be in line to sign Yoann Gourcuff as a replacement for Fabregas. The Moroccan international speculated during an interview with French broadcaster L'Equipe TV that if it were up to him he would snap up the 25-year-old Gourcuff  but said: "It's up to the boss to decide if he wants him or not." Chamakh knows Gourcuff from the time they spent together at Bordeaux before the former moved to Arsenal in 2010 and Gourcoff joined Lyon in a £20m deal. But allegedly he's not settled and French reports suggest he is hoping to make a move to the Emirates with Chamakh having a word in the ear of the nutty professor.

Elsewhere, as we reported yesterday, Birmingham City centre-half Scott Dann is on Arsenal's radar and respected website goal.com reports that the Gunners are in "advanced talks" to bring the 24-year-old defender to north London. Apparently Arsenal have offered the Blues £6m for Dann but the Midlands club are playing hardball and want £10m. With Liverpool and Stoke City also chasing Dann, Birmingham are confident of getting their asking price from Arsenal, particularly as reports from Merseyside indicate that Everton blocker Phil Jagielka definitely isn't up for sale this summer.

Spanish papers report that Real Madrid will buy Emmanuel Adebayor only if they can't get their hands on Brazilian striker Neymar. The 19-year-old has been chased by the Spanish club for months but Santos are reluctant to part with Neymar though if Real offer silly money they might sacrifice their principles. In the meantime Real coach Jose Mourinho has a Plan B, which is to buy the 27-year-old Adebayor from Manchester City. The Togo striker impressed at the Bernabeu during a loan spell last season and would relish a permanent move to Madrid.

Talksport reports that City are back in the market for Fiorentina winger Alessio Cerci. The Sky Blues were first linked with the 24-year-old in June but nothing came of the move. Now, however, according to Talksport, City boss Roberto Mancini is prepared to offer the Italian club £5m for Cerci, and the player is hopeful of landing a four-year contract that will bring him twice what he currently earns in Serie A. Talksport quotes a Fiorentina source as saying: "We are optimistic and hope a deal can be agreed in the next week."

The Daily Mail makes the extraordinary claim that former French international David Trezeguet is weighing up a move to Premier League new boys Swansea. The 33-year-old frontman, who made his name by scoring the winner for France in their 2000 European Championshp triumph over Italy, but he's currently a free agent after leaving Spanish outfit Hercules in the summer. Trezeguet is known to be after one final swansong at the highest level after a decade at Juventus and Swansea believe he would bolster their attacking options in the Premier League. ·
