Brazil star Neymar saves pitch invader in South Africa - video

Lost child is hoisted aloft like the World Cup as Brazil players take pity on him

WATCHING Brazil beat South Africa proved to be a particularly memorable experience for one young fan, whose disappointment at seeing the home side lose 5-0 would have been tempered by the fact he ended the evening being held aloft by the Brazilian team and posing for pictures with Neymar.

The young fan somehow found his way onto the pitch at Soccer City in Soweto in the aftermath of the match. But as he was being escorted off the turf by security staff he was spotted by Barcelona superstar Neymar, earlier the scorer of a hat-trick, who decided to rescue the youngster and introduce him to his team mates.

The boy could barely contain his delight as the Brazilian players gathered around and held him aloft as though he was the World Cup, the trophy they are being tipped to win in their homeland later this year.

After that Chelsea defender David Luiz produced a smartphone and started taking pictures of the young lad alongside Neymar in the middle of the pitch.
