Transfer Talk: Zidane Jnr said to be considering move from Real Madrid

Italian rag Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Manchester United are lining up an offer for Enzo Zidane, the son of Zinedine Zidane. Quite what the French genius will make of the news isn't known but with his son still a sweet 16 he'll presumably be hoping he won't be taking English lessons from Wayne Rooney.

Zidane junior, a midfielder like his dad, is currently on the books of Real Madrid. Gazzetta dello Sport says the teenager was contemplating a loan move to Belgian outfit Standard Liege before he learned of United's interest.

Apparently United boss Alex Ferguson has been monitoring Enzo for months and Zidane is said to be open to the idea of a move to Old Trafford believing that Ferguson is a winner when it comes to nurturing young talent.

Adding weight to Gazzetto's story is the fact that the paper ran an in depth interview with Ferguson earlier this week - so presumably they took the opportunity to sound him out about his transfer targets at the same time.

However, Juventus are also reported to be courting Enzo – who grew up in Spain when his dad played for Real and has yet to decide whether he should play junior international for Spain or France.

Marseille's Nigerian full-back Taye Taiwo has confirmed at a press conference that he won't be at the club next season. The  25-year-old was keeping mum on where exactly he will be playing his football next season though in recent weeks he's been linked to Arsenal, Liverpool, Benfica, AC Milan and Bayern Munich.

"Thanks to the fans of Marseille," said Taiwo as he announced his departure after seven years at the Stade Velodrom. "I would also like to thank my manager Didier Deschamps, who has been great, but I have made my mind up to leave this club. I already know where I want to go, but... there are still some minor details which will be ironed out soon."

Those minor details are believed to concern his wage demands, rumoured to be around £2.5m a year, which if true would rule out a move to Arsenal, who don't go in for big wages and as a result don't win trophies.

Following our revelation on Thursday that Newcastle were eyeing up Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor, on loan from Manchester City, Talksport reports that the Spanish giants are now looking to make his stay at the Bernabeu permanent. The Togo hitman arrived at Real from City in January and bagged a brace of goals in the 4-0 thrashing of Tottenham in the Champions League earlier this week.

Now it's being said that Jose Mourinho would like to keep Adebayor for longer and to that end has asked the Real board to pay City the £15m they require. Opinion among the Real fans is less warm, however, with Spanish rag Marca claiming that a survey of 10,000 fans revealed that only 52 per cent wanted Adebayor to stay. ·
