Transfer Talk: But will Wenger let go the man who scored the winner against Barcelona?

Arsenal's Andrei Arshavin could soon be on his way back to Russia claims Talksport. The 29-year-old is apparently being chatted up by his former club Zenit St Petersburg and a summer move is on the cards for the Russian striker.

Though he scored the winner in Arsenal's recent 2-1 win over Barcelona in the Champions League, Arshavin has been a pale imitation this season of the player that arrived at the Emirates three years ago. Listless and laboured, Arshavin has allegedly fallen out of love with English football and pines for a return to St Petersburg.

Talksport claims that Zenit coach Luciano Spaletti is monitoring the situation and quotes the Russian rag Soviet Sports as saying the club hopes to sign Arshavin in June, beating off competition from the likes of Turkish club Galatasaray, also rumoured to be interested in signing the player. It's claimed that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has yet to reach a decision on whether Arshavin is now surplus to requirements.

The Gunners, meanwhile, have been encouraged in their reputed desire to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Balazs Dzsudzsak. The 24-year-old Hungarian has aroused interest in a host of European clubs, including Liverpool and Everton, and in an interview with the Hungarian website Origo.hu, the experienced international said: "I think the Premier League is one of the best, or maybe the best, football leagues in the world so it would be a great thing to play there… I want to sign to a bigger club than PSV. I haven't made it a secret that this is my intention."

Dzsudzsak has been in sparkling touch for PSV this season, scoring 18 goals in 33 appearances, and it's that prolific form that has caught the eye of the likes of Wenger. "My coach, Fred Rutten, has said honestly that I'm still not ready for the change," Dzsudzsak added, though his coach would say that, wouldn't he.

Marseille midfielder Stephane Mbia says that he's gagging to join Manchester United, despite the fact that Alex Ferguson struggles to keep his temper in check.

Speaking to French sports daily L'Equipe, the 24-year-old said:"I want to go as high as possible. First I want to do well at Marseille, so my performances will one day send me to a club like Manchester United. Real Madrid are also an attractive side, but the club of my dreams is Manchester United. I feel fine at Marseille for now, but you have to have ambition."

The Cameroon powerhouse – who has won 17 caps for his country - moved to Marseille from Rennes in 2009 in a £10m deal and has since matured into one of the most effective defensive midfielders in the French league.

Finally, Talksport says that Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio is being considered by Liverpool ahead of June's transfer window. The 20-year-old Argentine defender has been in barnstorming form this season and has already been courted by Italian club Juventus.

Valued at £8m by the Spanish club, Musacchio has reportedly already been given the once-over by Liverpool's director of football strategy, Damien Comolli. Manager Kenny Dalglish will make the final decision. ·
